On Fiction I’ve Written Today

My good friend A.C. Hall put out a request today for 2 sentence stories. He is running a nifty little publishing company called Hall Brothers Entertainment. They just got up and running last month. Well, at least they just announced it last month. Anyway, one of the stories I’ve been writing lately (ok, maybe not lately, but I’ll get to that in a second) is for an upcoming short story anthology they are going to be putting out. Got My New Schedule For My New Job

My new boss came and told me what my schedule will be on the new job. The first 2 weeks I’ll be in training mode, and I’ll be working 8am to 5pm Monday through Friday. Then the third week I’ll move to my permanent schedule which will be Monday through Thursday 8am to 5pm. Saturday 7am to 4pm. That will leave me with Friday and Sunday off. I’m not a big fan of having split days off like that, but I knew when I took the job that I would have split days off, so I’m not complaining too much. Plus now that I have paid days off I can take Saturday off and have a 3 day weekend.

Adventures In Drug Testing

I got my packet of paper work from work in the mail last night. It included a lot of papers that I had to fill out and sign. I don’t think I’ve ever had to fill out that many papers to work some where. I know I didn’t have anything close to that when I started here as a temp. Anyway, I sat down and filled out all the paperwork last night. It took a little over an hour to complete it all.

Included in the paperwork was the papers I needed to take up to the lab so I could do my drug test. Continue reading →

Latest On My Promotion

I spoke with my new supervisor this morning. She asked me if I had gotten my paperwork yet. I told her I had not, but it should be arriving via Fed-Ex today some time, though it may actually be tomorrow before it makes its way to me. I also got an email that the IT department will be moving my PC to my new desk before I arrive on Monday. That reminds me also that I will have a short weekend coming up. Sunday will be the only day I get off, before I start work on Monday. For the first week or 2 I will have a “training schedule” which means Monday through Friday 8-5 I think.

So not a whole lot going on there yet, but that is where I am with it. Further updates as they come availiable. One other thing, I’m assuming since my new supervisor came and told me about the paperwork in front of everyone here at work that I’m allowed to talk about it now. Yay!
